About Dr. Shannon
Dr. Shannon is known for helping people and organizations think clearly when situations become complex, emotional, or high pressure. He’s the host of Sunday with Dr. Shannon, where he answers real questions with clear, direct guidance people remember and use everyday. His work is grounded in real-world experience across crisis response, education systems, and community-based program development.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Shannon has worked across nonprofit, for-profit, and public systems, helping individuals, leaders, and organizations navigate difficult situations and build practical solutions that function in the real world.
His work includes expansion of community-based programs, educational and training development, global consulting experience, support of initiatives involving law enforcement, healthcare systems, and community organizations, advocacy connected to LGBTQ+ communities and marriage equality, and published work contributing to national conversations.
Across his work, Dr. Shannon has consistently identified gaps in systems, services, and support structures, and helped close them. In some cases, this has meant connecting the right people, organizations, and resources to solve a problem. In others, it has meant building programs from the ground up when no solution existed.
He doesn’t approach situations from theory. He understands how systems function, how people respond under pressure, and how decisions impact real lives.
His approach is simple:
Make sense of what is happening with blunt honesty. Lead with curiosity. Truly meet people where they are and you’ll discover what to do next.
This is a Ridiculously Real approach to mental health and life under pressure.
